USNC Focuses Its Operations to Accelerate Development and Delivery of its Nuclear Systems
SEATTLE (Feb. 28, 2024) – Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC), the U.S.-based global leader in the deployment of fourth-generation gas-cooled Micro Modular Reactor (MMR®) Energy Systems, announced today the completion of its operational focus initiative. This strategic initiative has been designed to position the company to focus on the refinement and deployment of its proprietary and innovative nuclear technology and product array.
The initiative involves a reduction of USNC staff and the concentration of efforts on selected markets and customers. While many potential customers have shown interest in new nuclear power technologies, only a subset have shown the resolve to incorporate advanced reactors in the near term. The initiative includes the renegotiation of agreements with key partners associated with USNC’s demonstration projects.
“We undertook these steps to better meet the record level of interest in our products and projects across the country and around the world. We are sharpening our efforts to align the entire organization more closely with our core mission, while at the same time meeting our organizational commitments and moving more aggressively into rapidly expanding markets,” said Francesco Venneri, USNC CEO.
USNC’s products stand to accelerate the energy transformation in industrial heat, data center, and distributed energy markets. Among other advancements, the company remains the only private licensed facility producing TRISO coated fuel particles and advanced fuels essential for the licensing and deployment of next generation reactors.
These measures will better direct USNC’s resources onto core priorities, including delivery of first fuel products and advanced microreactors for commercial energy projects, and at the same time cementing USNC’s position as the leading microreactor vendor for the future.
